Viewing games show
We viewed our game show rehearsal and overall I felt it was good although there is some room for improvement. In my role as presenter I felt I got better as I went along and started getting use to it such as stalling and trying to create time for disk change. I think that with more practice it could be a lot more professional which would then make our whole production improve. We also looked at some professionally made game shows so we can take inspiration from them as well as learn about different shots and I can improve my presentation style.
Working In The TV Studio
We have now begun practicing our production and starting to practice and get comfortable in our different roles. I have personally begun work as a cameraman and i feel I mostly did the job very well although there were some mistakes such as when I couldn't quite get the focus to work but apart from that I feel like it went really well. I got used to the cameras fairly quickly and the directions given to us were quite simple with two set layouts with my camera facing either team one or team two. The overall idea for the show seems to work and is something that would be enjoyable to film. From our first rehearsal it is clear that it will take some work to get the timing right and that I have to adjust quickly from what I was told so I need to learn to listen and react quicker. Overall though I enjoyed my role and want to keep continueing to practice. i have now changed my role from cameraman to presenter due to a camera not working and people were pleased with how I was presenting.
Roles for Production
We have now have an idea that has been chosen. It is a game show where the contestant have to try and name the song and artist which is playing and contestant must guess both the name of the song as well as the artist. the show show will have two teams of two. The show will try and have as many different song as possible to appeal to as many different people as people have different tastes in music. We are currently in the pre-production stage of the process and planning out all the documents and will go into rehearsal tomorrow and try to practice with the script as well as learn a bit a more with the tv studio and the equipment. I will be a cameraman for the production which I am looking forward to as it will be a crucial role as I will need to be able to respond to instructions quickly and to be able to frame shots properly so I am overall looking forward being cameraman.
